Breakdown
F-Zero X (N64)

In a word, I would call F-Zero X pure genius. It's made almost perfect in every aspect. The game basically rocks and is a must have for people. Most people won't be able to see how good the game from pictures, but when somebody actually gets their hand on the game and experiences the intensity and the speed, they will definitely know what I mean.

Graphics 8.5 out of 10

Graphics wise F-Zero X isn't the best. They are still very good though. Now I know most people have heard that the graphics are very dumb because they were emphasizing on 60FPS (I'll talk about that later for all the people who don't know it) but the graphics still rock. I think the cars are detailed well. The only thing that could use work are the backgrounds. Now about the 60FPS. To most people this doesn't mean much but let me explain because you'll probably care then and actually consider the game. The fact that they put 60 FPS (Frames Per Second) really makes the game. The most relevant reason they made the game sooooo high in this was so the game never slows down just like you always see in other games, Mario Kart 64 and Goldeneye for example. Now you might think that they could of worked on something more relevant. BOY ARE YOU WRONG. The game has 30 cars on the screen with each going some where around 1000 kilometers an hour which would probably cause the game to gooo slow and you might not want to look at it. You had better be thankful they put that in.

Music and Sound 8 out of 10

The sound and music in the game are awesome. They rock and I do mean that. Their is a lot of types like Hard Rock, Heave Metal and others. The only thing wrong is that they basically took the music and remixed it and added stuff to it to make is sound more like a futuristic hype type. Other then the variety the music and sound are some of the best I've seen.

Game Challenge 10 out of 10

When you play the game (if you play the game, hopefully)and actually get into the game and challenge it will seem obvious that this game has more challenge then most games on the system. I guess I will have to explain it to ya. You start out with 3 Cups, Jack, Queen, and King cup which have 6 tracks in each, 6 cars, and 3 difficulties, Novice, Standard, and Expert. When you finish Cups on standard in 1st place you get an X. When you get 3 X's you get 6 more cars. There is a total of 30 cars in the game and you need 12 X's to earn them all. More, there is 2 more extra Cups and 1 more difficulty level. When you get to the Master Difficultly level not even the most experienced or veteran player will be denied a challenge. TRUST ME, THIS IS HARD. Now to the 2 extra cups. First their is the Joker Cup. This includes 6 more tracks, one of which will be familiar to most Mario Kart 64 fans. Then their is something that will really and ultimately bring this game up. The X Cup, is a new cup which makes up its own tracks, yes. It does not pick random tracks from the game, it MAKES them. This game gives the game almost Infinite Replay Value. Finally, last but not least, is another challenge. After you open every Machine, you should try to get trophies for each car. You can earn 3 trophies for every car. If you actually completer all of these challenges I've told you then...well frankly you should be exalted. Some will.

Game Play-Fun 10 out of 10

This game really is fun. This game puts the F*U*N in fun. The game has many ways of playing. First there is the normal GP race which is very much like the GP race in Mario Kart 64 except that there are 30 cars on the track at once. Then there is the Time Attack, and Practice which are pretty self-explanatory. Then their is the Death Race, which is something totally new. In this you are on a special single track with all the other racers, 29, and you only got one thing on your mind, KILL. You have to use you skill and strategy to either 1. Blow up the other racers or 2. Knock the other racers off the track where their are no rails on the track To do this you have 2 special moves that you can use which are: 1. The side attack which is done by either pressing the R button twice, goes to the right, or the Z button twice, goes to the left. or you can use 2. The Spin attack. This move is much more efficient but much harder to use and control. It is done by holding both the Z and R buttons and then pressing either R twice, spins the right, or Z twice, spins the left. You will find this move easy to do but hard to master. Finally, there is the Multiplayer. You can play with 1-3 other people. If you only use 1 or 2, you can set the computer to use control the other players. The Multiplayer is a blast especially when you play with 3 other people, one of the best of its kind. The only problem with Multiplayer is that you cant play with more then 3 people. It really stinks because you can only play with a total of 3 people. It is still very fun. A nice feature about Multiplayer is if... lets say you retire by falling off or blow up on the track. You can set the game to start up a slot machine on your screen and if you can manage to stop 3 pictures in a row 1 or all the other remaining racers will lose life. It really adds to the fun of the game.

Rumble Pak 6.7 out of 10

Out of what I've seen the game uses the Rumble Pak but it doesn't really use it to its fullest. You don't really feel the shaking and realisticeness. Although it doesn't matter that much its still hurts the game a little. I hope they fix this before the game is released.

Frustration
This game is plenty and loads of frustration, read challenge and you'll see my point, you'll never finish the game fast or easily. The game is definitely going to be a challenge for most if not all people. My advice to you is try to ignore the frustration and try to enjoy the game more

Replayability 10 out of 10

This game is definitely going to have a lot of replayability and satisfaction to it. Its worth every penny. I can prove this because of 2 things. The Challenge will definitely bring you back for more for sure. Also, if you remember I talked about the X-Cup. This Cup never ends so does the game. VERY GOOD JOB. Another thing that might add to it but is not for certain is the fact that F-Zero X might utilize the 64DD add-on. With this you will be able to make your own tracks, cars and other stuff. REMEMBER, this is not for sure.

Game Value 10 out of 10

This game is definitely a must have. If you miss out on this then you're missing out period.

Overall 9.8 out of 10

I've said it once and I'll keep on saying it again. GET THIS GAME. if you were a fan of the original and even if you weren't then you should get this game. Although I've heard that not all people like this game like it more then the original most people do. With all the loops, corkscrewes, pipes and tunnels. I can guarantee most people will be very satisfied with the game.
